Las Vegas has always been a place where people from all walks of life can come and enjoy some quality time away from their every day routines. In fact, the amazing variety of hotels available in Las Vegas clearly proves that Las Vegas is not just intended to be an upper class retreat. What is truly interesting to note is that Las Vegas has a massive variety in terms of accommodation options, from the famous Plaza Hotel and Casino to the various Motels located in Las Vegas, there is no dearth of accommodation options in Las Vegas. One of the oldest hotels in Las Vegas is the Plaza Hotel and Casino. Inaugurated on July 19, 1971 The Plaza is famous for its seasonal roof top swimming pool, in addition movies like ‘Diamonds are forever’, ‘The Mexican’, and ‘Back to the Future II’ have been shot in The Plaza Hotel. Renovated in 2005, The Golden Gate is popular with tourists for its "Original Shrimp Cocktail" (nearly 2 tons of shrimp are served every week at The Golden Gate). The Hotel currently has 106 rooms and has 4 storeys. What is notable is that almost all major Casinos’ also offer accommodation. The largest downtown Casino in Las Vegas is the Golden Nugget. With nearly 2,000 rooms, the Golden Nugget is one of the few Hotels in the world to have maintained a Four Diamond rating from AAA for the last 25 years. The Golden Nugget has the world’s largest gold nugget on display; the 27.2 Kilogram Hand of Faith was found in 1981 and has become a tourist attraction in its own right. People looking to make the most of their Las Vegas vacation must plan a visit to The Golden Nugget.Irrespective of the purpose of your visit to Las Vegas, there are some hotels and restaurants that you have to visit to make your visit truly memorable. Remember it does not really matter if you stay at the above mentioned hotels, but no visit to Las Vegas will ever be complete without visiting places like The Plaza, or without tasting The Golden Gate’s Shrimp Cocktail. If you have opted for a package tour of Las Vegas chances are you will definitely be taken to casinos like The Golden Nugget. In essence, Las Vegas Hotels are not just about fancy Casinos.
